OUR
HERITAGE
IT BEGINS.

It all started back in the early 1950’s.  Stan Houghton Sr. along with his two sons,  Stan Houghton Jr. and Dale Houghton, worked their small family-owned operation. It was a well-known subcontracting company operating in multiple states, and emphasizing in the tile-flooring, plaster & stucco, metal stud framing, drywall, and structural steel fireproofing trades. In 1992, WESTLAND CONSTRUCTION - a commercial based general
contracting firm was born with Stanley Houghton Jr. as president,
with Dale Houghton assuming presidency of Houghton Plaster.
Westland Construction has since been providing projects
consisting of C.M.G.C., design build, consulting, and negotiated projects.  Though Westland has been operating as a separate entity and on a completly separate level to that of our sister companies: Houghton Plaster and Houghton Specialty Finishes, together all companies provide services that are leading our associated industries.

Westland Construction is licensed and has constructed thousands of unique buildings in more than ten Western U.S. States including Alaska and Hawaii, and the Isles of Samoa and Tonga. Our portfolio contains over 100 million dollars of public educational facilities, 85 religious facilities, office buildings, industrial warehouses, medical facilities, multi-family projects, water parks and recreation areas, financial institutions, State/County/City facilities, and even large residential developments and custom homes. Westland’s reputation thrives on repeat and public projects because we value the importance of the owner/builder/architect relationship.  Our approach has always lead us to successful projects built on time, budget, and with quality that exceeds industry standards.  Because of this, the projects Westland completes always leave personal and future relationships with the owner and owner's representatives.

GROWTH & EXPANSION.

In 2005 Westland was presented the opportunity to complete a few large projects in the Southern Utah area.  Since then a local and thriving operation has been established in the heart of St. George, Utah - built to specifically manage our Southwest Division (Nevada, Southern Utah, Arizona, and California construction industries.  Though today Westland employs hundreds of people in multiple locations, each project no matter the type of building, proximity, or value, receives the same professional attention.
